The Clan Commissioner for Australasia, Craig Carrothers-Monument, FSA Scot, a keen competitor in the Highland Games in around Australia, has submitted this report.
I am delighted to report that I have taken 1st place in the IHGF International Championship 2025 at the Melbourne Highland Games and Celtic Festival, in the men’s 55-59 division, and won the world hammer championship for my division.
There were so many great performances, by some wonderfully talented athletes, not only from Australia but USA, UK, Europe, NZ and Japan, many putting on world record displays!
It was an honour to take the field with them and spend time in their company in the days before.
The event would not have happened without many months of hard work by Highland Muscle with support from Melbourne Highland Games & Celtic Festival, their committee, Francis Brebner and the International Highland Games Federation (IHGF) and I am very grateful for their efforts in putting on this amazing, and thoroughly enjoyable event.
Craig and Lizzies’ daughter is also a highly rated competitor in the games, for her age group. Following in dad’s footseteps
